There is a Cambodian Equestrian Center in Cambodia. It takes about 20 minutes to get there, it is quite far in Phnom Penh. We were surprised when we were there for the first time. It was a beautiful place with beautiful view and good horses. This place was managed by a French-couple. Most of the teachers are French.
Zach has started to take a horseback riding lesson since in January. He loves it. We have to arrive 15 minute before the lesson so then the kid can look after his/her horse and choose a helmet. For last five months, the teacher has taught the basic skills in horse riding such as how to rein in, how to sit on the horse properly, how to ask the horse to move, how to stop the horse. Besides, each kid was guided by a Cambodian-man to help the kids in managing the horse.
Since this month, Zach felt that the lesson became harder. He has to manage the horse by himself. He has started to look after the horse by his own, do trotting, and give a direction to the horse to turn right or left. Zach loves trotting!
Last week, Zach’s horse moved very slowly and Zach did not kick the horse strong enough. We kept telling him “kick harder … kick harder!” We thought that might be because of his shoes. He wore running shoes. We thought that he needed a long riding boots. On Sunday, we have ordered the boots for him. He was disappointed though because he could not wear it this Saturday since the boots would not be finished until this Sunday.

That a boy Zack. Horseback riding is the BEST sport. You must get the riding gene from the Cheung side since your Auntie LOVES horseback riding. Unfortunately, I think my kids are allergic to horses!
