I have an impression that Jacob will be pretty smart as his brother, Zachary. He quickly absorbs almost EVERYTHING that Zach is into at the moment. I think that is the advantage of being the second child, has a role model (which could be a disadvantage too).
Lately Jacob’s favourite things to say are “go a way” and “mine”. He is quite possessive about everything that he is into it. But after we tell him about sharing in awhile, he would like to share it.
Emotional
He is a happy baby. Always smile! I notice that if he does not smile, that means he is sick. I remember when he was sick two weeks ago, he did not smile for a week! We missed his smile a lot.
Jacob is a very affectionate kid. When his big brother cries, he’ll put his hand on Zach’s back and pat it. He likes to plant me with kisses and cuddles. He likes to kiss my cheeks, my arms, my lips, even my tummy. When I say “Senyum Jacob mana?” (where is your smile) and then he will give me his best smile.
Zach and Jacob are very close and LOVE each other. When they hurt each other feeling, they will say sorry and hug each other.
Language
Jacob speaks a LOT of words, but not long sentences yet. His languages are mixed up. He speaks some Indonesia words, English words, and Khmer words and then he will mix all those words in a sentence.
English, He can say "doity"; “please”; “thank yu”; “car”; “head”; “seat here”; “yummy”; "good"; "more"; "bum bum"; "God"; etc.
Indonesia, He can say "maem"; "jatuh"; "minum"; "sikat gigi"; "mandi"; "sekolah"; "mau"; etc.
Khmer, He can say "eek" (disgusting); "yum" (eat); "echai" (schavenger); "ot ban" (can not); etc.
Playtime
Jacob is very good at getting around. He’s agile, coordinated and has excellent balance. He is not afraid of everything and easy to figure out ANYTHING especially gadgets. He knows how to turn on/off the TV, AC, cell phone, etc. When we visit friends or family’s houses, he will know how to operate all those gadgets stuff. I think he is a thinker and has no fear!
He loves to play cars and LEGO. He can spend a lot more time with those toys.
He loves to dance and play drums.
He has two best friends who always visit him everyday, Michael (Swedish) and Paloma (American), in the afternoon if he goes to school and he will visit them in the morning when he does not go to school.
Sleeptime
Jacob still takes a nap in the afternoon around 12.15pm until 2pm.
We put him to sleep at 7pm or 7.30pm. He will ask us to read a book for him by saying “Bach .. bach ..”(baca or read). Usually, we have to wait until he falls a sleep and then we leave him alone. Zach and Jacob sleep in the same bedroom. Sometimes he’d be awake in middle of the night for couple minutes and then goes to sleep again. I really love when he wakes up and calls my name "Mummy ... Mummy" and when I came into his room, he is sitting on his bed waiting for me by rubbing his eyes. Soooo cute!
